Pumpkin and Spice

As a pastry-chef-in-training, I love to eat, entertain and create. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen, and I love sharing new things I find, try and bake. This blog chronicles the adventures I have with food- at home,at school, on vacation and in my career. I’m especially excited to share my adventures this coming fall, as I will be starting a six-month externship as a baker at a luxury ski resort in Utah.

Deer Valley Giveaway!

Posted by pumpkin in Untagged

It's almost time for me to leave Park City and come home to Florida- I fly home next Monday morning! I'm excited to be coming home, but I have had a great time here in Utah. I've been skiing, tubing, played in the snow, went to the Sundance Film festival, saw celebrities, went bowling, made new friends, Giveaway Prizeand, of course, learned and experienced so much at my externship.

Up to this point, I've not mentioned the resort where I've been externing. I'm ready to break my silence, because I want to share some of the deliciousness I've experienced in the past five months with you. I'm happy to present you with a Deer Valley Ski Resort treat giveaway! Deer Valley is a luxury ski resort with Zagat's rated restaurants, and has been rated the #1 ski resort in North America by Ski Magazine.

I've got one gift pack of "signature"  goodies that you can enjoy at home- Double Chocolate Chip Cookie mix, Deer Valley's Signature Turkey Chili Mix, and a bottle of Oomph! Spice Blend (which is great on chicken, burgers and veggies!)

To win, just leave me a comment telling me your favorite vacation spot! You have until Thursday at noon. (Mountain Time) I'll post the winner Thursday at midnight (again, Mountain Time) so be sure to check back in!

My favorite vacation spot is Lake Tahoe, NV. Great shores/beaches in the summer and perfect snowy mountains in the winter.

P.S. I've just recently found your blog, but I really enjoy it!

This is my husband's most favorite meal ever! Seriously, for Christmas my mom always orders me 3 big things of these chili packs. Which then have to be doubly wrapped in foil because the spices smell so strong!!! We also love the oatmeal raisin cookies - I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!! My favorite vacation spot would have to be Las Ventanas in Mexico. Pure relaxation and pampering!

Oddly enough, someone already said this, but my husband and I love the Leland, Michigan too. We spent our honeymoon on the Leelanau Penninsula and it was great. Peaceful, relaxing and you can't beat Lake Michigan.

For me, vacation tends to be more about the company than the location. I love it all...the mountains, the beach, the days spent sightseeing, and the days spent lounging...but what makes vacation so great is hanging with my fam smilies/smiley.gif

btw, i've been to park city and have loved reading your take on things! great giveaway!

I'd have to say my favorite vacation spot is anywhere in the mountains, any time of year. I was most recently in the rockies during the winter... so majestic (and a smidge cold, too)!
As a fellow patissiere-in-training (and career-changer), I'm loving the blog. Very empowering, thanks much smilies/smiley.gif

Fenwick Island, Delaware. A very quiet beachfront town, between the bustle of two hip spring-break-destination beaches. One pizza place, one liquor store, lots of small family restaurants, and NO excuse not to just flop on the sand and ignore everything.

P.S. your blog is inspiring to read for me, as someone who is looking for the courage to make a big career change. Brava to you for taking the plunge!

Hi! I just found your blog the other day via Cake Wrecks; your cute skull cake is AMAZING.. and I've enjoyed reading all your past entries too. I can bet you're counting down the days till you get to go home and see your hubby.. I bet he's excited too! Oh and I've been printing out some of your recipes as well, which my boyfriend is very happy about trying. Although I'm saving the pumpkin oatmeal cookies for me. I happen to be a huge pumpkin lover myself!

P.S. Favorite vacation spot.. I'm going to be the 3rd that says Michigan. My family has a cottage in a small town called St. Joe that's very close to Lake Mi. It's so beautiful and very relaxing there.

My preferred vacation spot is anywhere on the beach, preferably with an umbrella-laden fruity drink. Although mountain lodge, in front of a roaring fireplace, with a steamy cup of cocoa is a close second.

I'm just so excited that there are 3 Michigan references for favorite vacations spots. With all the negative messages about Michigan, it's great that so many people recognize its beauty and charm.

Oh...and go MSU (sorry NCAA Basketball Tournament reference. Just can't help myself.)

My fav vacation spot is Stone Harbor, NJ smilies/smiley.gif We've been renting a house there each summer for about 10 years, before we even had kids smilies/smiley.gif Now we go with our two kids, my brother/sister and their families and spend a really great two weeks just hanging out - the kids get to spend time with their cousins, we have dinners, drinks, etc. While no vacation is truly relaxing with two kids under 10 LOL and since we are both fulltime working parents, I LOVE the time we get to spend as a family.

PS: Also new to your blog - love it!

I would like to propose not to hold back until you earn big sum of money to order different goods! You can take the business loans or short term loan and feel free

If you are in uncomfortable position and have got no cash to move out from that point, you would need to receive the loans. Because that would aid you emphatically. I take commercial loan every time I need and feel myself OK because of that.
