Hope you all survived Black Friday! Sissy and I stayed far away from stores and instead went out to see Australia. While we were out, we stopped by the
Park City Olympic Welcome Pavilion and wandered around. As you may remember, the 2002 were held in Salt Lake City. Park City (about 20-30min from SLC) was the host for the mountain-based events (skiing events, snowboarding, bobsledding, &c.) There's still a lot of "residual" from the Olympics, including the welcome pavilion and the Olympic Park (which is where the bobsledding/luge/speedskating took place.)
Today, I was off again, but Sissy worked. I took it as an oppertunity to go see Twilight, which Sissy didn't want to see. After watching angsty teens covort with equally angsty vampires, I walked (uphill) to Wal-mart (bleh) to get winter clothes for Kyle. He's coming up for Christmas, but doesn't have any ski clothes (no surprise, as we live in Florida.) I managed to find him a parka, snow pants and ski gloves for under $50. Not too shabby, eh? Next I walked to Whole Foods (there was a lot of walking today!)
I've been super-craving meatloaf (?!) lately, so at Whole Foods, I picked up a slice of turkey meatloaf, as well as a serving of garlic-leek mashed potatoes and a serving of roasted winter vegetables (carrots, sweet potatoes, onions, parsnips). It made for a delish dinner- though I did wish I had some ketchup. The roasted veggies were so good, I probably could have eaten them for dinner by themselves! Hmm... that's an idea for my next trip to Whole Foods...

And I couldn't resist a mini-pecan pie. (I ate half.)

Before Thanksgiving, I had noticed that Whole Foods had little potted rosemary "trees". I knew it would make a perfect mini-tree for Sissy and I, but I am a firm believer that you shouldn't put up Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving dinner, so I held off on buying it until today. Once I got it home, I wrapped it in lights and glittery snowflakes. It smells like heaven!

As I was unpacking my purchases, I noticed Sissy brought Orson and Spooky a present from work:

A big ol' chocolate chip cookie! Of course, Spooky and Orson are well mannered and shared the cookie with me... Between this and the pie I had waaay to many sweets today- but they were so good, and honestly, worth every calorie!
While I was out today, I noticed some dark clouds rolling in over the mountains. Is there snow in them? We shall see...

Tomorrow I'm also off- I'm going to get spoiled with all these days off! Not to worry, though. The ski season will start soon, and I'll be dreaming of free time. Tomorrow's plan includes going to the gym to sign up for my pass. Maybe the library, too. I need some reading material. Any book suggestions?

What a great deal on the parka, I'm glad he'll be there for Christmas. Enjoy your days off!
