Pumpkin and Spice

As a pastry-chef-in-training, I love to eat, entertain and create. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen, and I love sharing new things I find, try and bake. This blog chronicles the adventures I have with food- at home,at school, on vacation and in my career. I’m especially excited to share my adventures this coming fall, as I will be starting a six-month externship as a baker at a luxury ski resort in Utah.

My Winter in Pictures

Posted by pumpkin in workUtah

Well, friends, my time in Utah has come to a close. It's been quite an experience, and I've been glad to have you all along with me. I really do appreciate all the support and kind comments- they really helped keep my spirits up.

As I was looking through my photo albums, I found lots of pictures that didn't make it on the blog. I thought I'd share a recap of my time in Utah in pictures...

Park City
Park City Mountian Resort (before ski season started.)

Chocolate Cupcakes
Super chocolate-y cupcakes- with chocolate jimmies, of course!

Biscotti
A million bajillion mini chocolate biscotti (I literally had to dip 500 of these for a banquet... some in milk, some in dark and some in white chocolate.)

Fresh Bread
Fresh-made bread, hot from the oven!

Sundance
Sundance Film Festival. I think I posted this picture before, but I really like it. Getting to go to Sundance was really a highlight of my time in Park City.

Skiing Deer Valley
Skiing at Deer Valley. (Don't worry- I was standing at the top of the run when I took the picture... I'm not good enough to ski and snap a pic!)

Bowling beauties
Bowling with friends from work. (I'm on the far left with the pink and purple ball.)

Chocolate Snowball
Deer Valley's signature dessert- the Chocolate Snowball. It's a super-rich, super-dense, almost flourless chocolate cake, covered in sweetened whipped cream.

Snowflakes
A flurry of hand-piped dark chocolate snowflakes. They're the usual decoration for the Chocolate Snowball. (The Snowballs above are from a banquet, and were decorated with logo chocolates instead of snowflakes.)

Again, thanks for coming along for the ride! Things will be changing up again once I'm home- I'll have access to my kitchen, so there will be lots more recipes and tutorials. What kinds of things would you like to see?

I had got a dream to make my commerce, nevertheless I did not have enough of cash to do this. Thank goodness my colleague proposed to use the personal loans. Therefore I used the student loan and realized my dream.
